Setting the standard: What industry recognition means for Eventurous

Awards nights are often remembered for the announcements, the celebrations and the people holding trophies at the end of the evening. But the work being recognised began long before anyone entered the room.

It began in the early conversations with clients. In ideas that were challenged and improved. In plans that changed at the last minute. In long days on site, quick decisions behind the scenes and hundreds of details coming together at exactly the right moment.

That is what made this year’s M&IT Awards particularly meaningful for Eventurous. We were incredibly proud to be shortlisted across four categories:

  • Best Event Provider: Eventurous
  • Best Intermediary Agency Mid-sized: Eventurous
  • M&IT Personality of the Year: Flow Hancox
  • Rising Star of the Year: Evie Measom

And we are delighted to announce that we won silver for Best Event Provider and best Intermediary Agency.

It’s an achievement we are hugely proud of, but more than anything, it has given us a reason to pause and reflect on what industry recognition really represents.

Recognition of the Work Behind the Event

In events, success is often measured by what guests see. They see a venue transformed, a conference brought to life, an activity that gets the whole team involved or a celebration that feels completely effortless.

What they don’t always see is everything happening behind it.

The planning meetings, the creative thinking, the supplier relationships, the risk assessments, the technical rehearsals, the careful decisions about timing, flow and guest experience; the team quietly solving a problem before it ever becomes visible.

Awards recognise the final result, but they also recognise the expertise, judgement and teamwork that make that result possible.

For us, winning silver in Best Event Provider and Best Intermediary Agency Mid-sized reflects the breadth of what Eventurous has become. We bring venue finding, creative event design, team building, AV & Production, entertainment and event delivery together through one experienced team. This full service approach gives our clients one partner who understands the full picture. It means decisions are not made in isolation and every element can work towards the same purpose.

An Industry Built on People

Two of our shortlisted awards also recognised individuals within Eventurous.

Evie Measom being shortlisted for the Rising Star award reflects the fresh thinking, commitment and talent helping to shape the future of our industry. Flow Hancox being shortlisted for the M&IT Personality of the Year recognises the energy, character and influence that help move both a business and the wider events community forward.

These awards matter because events remain an incredibly human industry.

Technology, trends and audience expectations will continue to evolve, but people are still at the heart of every successful experience. It takes people who listen carefully, communicate clearly, respond calmly and care about getting things right. That is true in the relationships we build with clients, the partnerships we develop with venues and suppliers, and the way our team works together behind the scenes.

When talented people feel trusted to contribute ideas, make decisions and develop their expertise, clients feel the benefit too. They get a team that is invested in the outcome, not simply focused on completing a brief.

What Recognition Means for Our Clients

Awards are a proud moment for any business, but they should never become the destination. Their real value lies in what they represent.

For clients, independent industry recognition offers reassurance. It shows that the people entrusted with their event are respected within the sector and committed to consistently high standards. It also creates accountability.

Recognition doesn’t give us permission to stand still; it raises the bar for what comes next. It encourages us to keep questioning how events can be more engaging, how the planning process can be made easier for clients and how every element can deliver greater value.

After more than 35 years in the events industry, we know that experience matters. But experience is most valuable when it is paired with curiosity and a willingness to keep improving.

Every client, audience and brief is different. The strongest event partners understand that there is no single formula for success. They bring proven expertise, then apply it thoughtfully to the people and purpose in front of them.

A Shared Achievement

Although four names and titles appeared on the shortlist, these awards belong to far more than four entries. They reflect the work of our entire team, our trusted partners and the clients who invite us into their businesses, share their ambitions with us and trust us to bring important moments to life.

We are proud of the trophies. We are even prouder of the work behind them.
